Home Suite Home

I mentioned in my last post I was a little disappointed in the dorms. When we talked to one of the Irish exchange students here she said, "Oh, those are the bad dorms... but you get used to them." (She was another one of those sweet, very helpful people I've met.)

Well, here's some pictures.
Yes, the toilet is green.
Here you can see the two tiny beds. Thankfully they gave us sheets, blankets, pillows, and curtains. However, they didn't give us towels so we had to go and buy those at Tesco.

And here you'll see the cutest husband ever. :) And take a look at the shelves.. It looks like they took a bookshelf, painted the edges, and nailed it to the wall...

That's what the bed looks like with the blankets and everything on.

Here's our bathroom. Our suitemates were here before us, and they definitely made themselves comfortable. And apparently you were supposed to bring your own toilet paper, because they took theirs out of the bathroom after we used it. (Luckily, we had saved some napkins from our trip, "just in case."
We unwittingly bought scented toilet paper, and I'm pretty sure it's 3 or 4 ply. But it was only $4 for a pack of 12, so I'm not complaining!

This is our mini-fridge we get to use. Apparently most people buy groceries day to day here. (Even the carts in Tesco were SUPER small.)

Another cool thing about Tesco was that the cashiers all had seats to sit in while they checked people out. Also, we had to pay for the plastic bags... booo.

This is our hot plate with the pan that was given to us. And the cute pink dishes we bought.

When we walk into our dorm room there's this little hallway that has the hotplate and the bathroom. Our suitemates always make the bathroom smell like Asian food gone bad, so we bought plenty of air freshener, and keep the door to our room closed, and that keeps the smell out pretty well.
Ty and I both get a little closet. We haven't bought hangers yet, but that's definitely on our list!

I think the Irish girl was right, because I'm already starting to get used to our room. Another girl from K-State that's here said our dorm felt much homier than hers did... I'm not sure whether it's because of the mess or the love in the air. ;) Either way, I'm looking forward to a few months in Prague and planning to make every second count.

Thank you for reading!
